European finishing is a process whereby all creases and wrinkles are removed without doing damage to delicate fabrics. All moisture is extracted with sophisticated machinery, so that the garment retains its original feel, draping qualities and is resistant to re-wrinkling and yellowing.

The alternative finishing method which is a basic steam press or a hand iron press are not recommended for delicate garments and are also ineffective. Injecting steam into the gown to loosen the wrinkles and will not set the fabric memory so shortly after the gown is steamed it will re-wrinkle. Especially bad for travel, as the gown will remember it's original position and reset to a non-wedding look.
